About the teacher

Learning Catalyst is built and taught by an experienced Chemistry teacher in Mauritius. The full bio and photo are being finalised — here's what we stand for in the meantime.

Teaching approach

Clear teaching, not entertainment.

Chemistry sticks when students see why an idea works, not when they collect another cool fact. Lessons are short, structured and demanding — designed to leave a student able to explain the topic to someone else, not just recognise it on a paper.

Learning Catalyst exists because too many capable students lose marks on Chemistry simply because the syllabus was taught in the wrong order, or with too little honest feedback.

  • Understanding before tricks

We teach why something works before how to answer it. Students who understand don't need to memorise their way through papers.

  • Structured, not random

Every topic in the right order, with the right amount of practice — no jumping around.

  • Honest feedback

If something isn't going well, we tell you. Vague reassurance doesn't help anyone.

  • Mauritius-first

Built around the realities of local schools, exam timelines and family life.

Background

Detailed bio and qualifications will be added shortly. In summary:

  • Cambridge O-Level and IGCSE Chemistry teaching experience
  • Long-running tutoring practice with O-Level / IGCSE candidates in Mauritius
  • Background in designing structured course material for secondary-level science
  • Continuous review against the official Cambridge syllabus
